Dear Neighbor,
As elected board members of the Chatsworth Township
Library we ask your help in
furthering the development of the
library.
During the past year our library has hosted two book
signings, two computer classes, a
clown presentation, and a butterfly
presentation. By year’s end we plan
to be online and have our own web
site. Our readership is up over 25%
from last year. We are adding new
patrons to our roster every day and
we’ve out-grown our space. We want
to expand our library and our
services but we need your help. Our
$29,000 budget will not allow us to
be open more hours or offer more
programs.
It’s becoming increasingly difficult for Chatsworth
Township Library to continue to
provide all of the services that are
needed due to increasing costs and
the current economic environment.
That’s why we’re contacting you. We
feel so strongly about the library’s
services that we’re reaching out to
our fellow citizens to request
financial support for the library.
Any amount you can share will be put to good use,
right here in our community. Your
gift will make it possible to
continue providing assistance in our
area to citizens who would not have
anywhere to turn for assistance
without Chatsworth Township Library.
Our expansion goals include:
-
Offer more children’s
programming
-
Offer more children’s books
-
Expand computer access and
capabilities
-
Establish a children’s computer
learning center
-
Provide an area for small group
book discussions, board
meetings, etc.
-
Be a
Wi-Fi hotspot
-
Provide a reading area for
patron use
-
Expand our hours to accommodate
more diverse schedules
-
Provide more books, newspapers
and magazines for patron’s
pleasure
-
Become wheelchair accessible
-
Provide handicapped accessible
restroom
-
Re-establish the Library Friends
Volunteer Program
-
Add square
footage to building
We appreciate your attention to our request and thank you
in advance for your generosity.
Please send your donation with this
Pledge
Form in an envelope to 432 East
Locust Street PO Box 638 Chatsworth,
IL 60921.
The
library staff is now working
with their fundraising committee
to plan activities to raise the
needed funds for the
building project.
Bring your aluminum cans to the library. The cans will then be crushed and hauled away to the recyclers on a regular basis.
In our first month we raised over $400 with our cans.
Watch for other
upcoming announcements of
fundraising opportunities and
fun events planned by the
library.
